The first of the two battles fought within a day of each other

The King and his elite guard arrived later in the day and rushed into the town, all mounted, taking out almost all the garrison within the first hour, the rest of the battle was fought between the elite guard and a small group of Northerners holding up in the Lords Tower. The King ordered the guard to regather and burn the storage huts, food warehouses and damage the fortifications, so they could easily retake the city.
