Session 12/21/2024 Downtime - Tyra

Day 1: Discussion with Vanderlith & Doromir. I discussed with Vanderlith about inheriting the legacy of The Summer Knight. I then went to Doromir and discussed the creation of a new set of armor infused with the Amulet of Health. DOromir discussed that he will need to create the plan and will be in contact.   Day 2: Moonlight as a tavern brawler again.

Armor

Doromir comes to you later in the week with a set of schematics drawn up. He sees Vanderlith and Jules pouring over the maps in the Bungalo's meeting room, but shrugs it off as none of his business. He is far too preoccupied running a city to become entrenched in the affairs of the Flamebringers.   When you greet him, he gives you a solid, forearm-clasping handshake, and the two of you join Vanderlith and Jules in the meeting room, taking the far end of the table. Doromir pauses beneath the globe of levitating water in the atrium, appreciating the regalia, tapestries, and exotic fish you all have incorporated into the space; he complements what you've done with the place, much better than when it was run by the former owner.   Vanderlith and Jules clear out when you enter, saying they're going to pause for a lunch break, but you get the feeling they aren't entirely trusting of Doromir and don't want to be discussing potentially sensitive around him. Doromir doesn't seem to mind, even adding that he would love to have Jules take a look at the most recent designs enhancements to the ventilation and filtration systems that would allow fresh air to reach deeper into the Hollow Mountain; his expertise in artificery would be appreciated. Jules says he'll meet with him later in the week.   Turning back to the schematics, Doromir lays out the design in front of you, taking off his consul's circlet to use to hold the far edge down. He begins to explain the intricacies of the what he has planned, something to do with running a mesh of adamantine beneath the jerkin of the plate to channel your divine spark into the armor's protections, but you begin to zone out amidst his explanation, head swimming with the talk of resonance points, tonal channeling, and the effect of your location in relation to leylines at any given moment.   You shake your head and tune back in as he talks price and timeline; that is easily within your grasp of understanding. It will run you 80,000 gp (after discount) and take approximately 40 workweeks to assemble, unless you are able to find him a piece of metal or ore touched by the Fracture; adamantium being the metal, or adamant being the ore. That would reduce the strain of resources on the Hollow Mountains stores, reducing the price to 60,000 gp and time to 30 workweeks. Time can also be reduced by paying a rush fee of 2,000 gp per week. It can be reduced down to two workweeks, which is required time for crafting. Reducing it any more would open the artificers up to dangerous complications.   After negotiating price and timeline, you and Doromir share a meal in the kitchen; you prepare the food, Doromir provides the beer, as is customary in dwarvish trading tradition. It can be as simple as bread and cheese, or as complex as a seven course meal, depending on the impression the buyer wants to make on their contractor. Contractor reputation is closely related to the quality of the beer they bring to the table, and Doromir always brings a keg of his finest; a medium bodied, oaky rye, a special recipe of the Lighthammer family for generations. The two of you catch up. Doromir enlightens you to the burdens of consulship and the logistics of running a city in lockdown. He has shouldered the responsibility with pride and dutiful attention, but misses the days of just working in the forge; he's looking forward to taking some time to work on your armor. The two of you pour out a drink for Callisto, but is there anything else you would like to discuss with him?   You part ways, and Doromir promises to keep you updated.

Pit Fighting

You attend the fighting pits, which are much the same as they were before; the same blue tiefling running the rings, the same jeers from the crowd, bets placed on or against you. It's a good method for letting off steam. Letting the events of the past week get beaten out of you. But every time a punch lands, in that flash of white pain, all you can think of is the light streaming out of Callisto's eyes and mouth as the Dark was released.

Instructions

  • Please decide how much you are willing to spend on the process and if you are going to track down some adamantium for Doromir
  • For moonlighting as a tavern brawler, these checks may get a little complex
    • Make an Athletics check, an Acrobatics check, and a special Constitution check with an additional bonus equal to a roll of your largest Hit Die. You may replace one (1) of these skill checks with an attack roll using one of your weapons, if you so choose.
      • Roll them using the embedded Dice Roller below. I took a look at your character sheet, and what you enter into the Dice Roller should look something like this: 1d20+5, 1d20+3, 1d20+0+1d10
      • The DC will be the first three numbers I roll in my response
    • I will also roll a fourth check, to see if there are any complications in your pit fighting. It will be the fourth number. If it is 10 or below, also roll a d6 to determine the complication; I will reply to this post again if that is the case
    • I'll also reply with more descriptions, once we know how your fights went
  • Let me know if you have any questions!

"Thank you Doromir."   As we discuss pleasantries over a meal I decided to make a meal that Calisto used to make on our journeys together. Being in the mountain I used inspiration from the greenery in Astronomea, alongside fresh seafood from the port. We talk about... Something...     Changing to 3rd Person: Post discussion with Doromir Tyra would then moonlight as a Tavern Brawler for one evening letting out their emotions after processing what went down the other day. Tyra then buckles down and spends the rest of time tracking down this ore vein in order to reduce expenses.
