Dahlia Dreux

Formerly estranged daughter of the deceased High Matriarch, Dahlia spent her youth in rebellion. As the eldest daughter who had been passed over as heir to the matriarchy, she held plenty of misgivings for her family and disdain for the teachings of the theocracy. She was rambunctious, uncaring for the responsibilities of her title, preferring to lead excursions and patrols into the Gloamwood.

But that was before the true reason for her dismissal as heir was revealed: Vyria was the daughter of High Matron Sonilyth Dreux and Emperor Aurelius. As such, when the kingsmoot was announced, Vyria began her pilgrimage to Helorix and Dahlia was crowned High Matron. In her time in the role, Dahlia has cast aside the rulings of the theocracy with the revelation that Arctiax was not truly the greatwyrm that saved the drow and was a ruse by House Deveraux to maintain their power over the matriarchy.

Dahlia is a natural leader and assumed her new role with grace and poise. And not a small amount of disdain; she misses her time traveling the Gloamwood with her soldiers and her time abroad with the Flamebringers. She has been reserved since her lover, Callisto, was once again overtaken by Dusk.
