Charles had felt drained of purpose; the day he left the kingdom; the day he left his now dead father's court. Even as a member of the vanguard, with some new friends by his side couldn't fill this void. Then he died. Or did he? A desperate wish unmade time; changing his fate. A bond with a lost soul, Vanderlith. An elf who lost everything. Trapped in a coin.
Charles lost his memories seeking an end to the darkness. An undeserved solution he was far too weak to comprehend. The memories he lost. His contentment with being a simple man faded away as his mind and body were lost. But his soul could not rest. It sought out where it was meant to be, and whether it was The Call or something more intrinsic to Charles, he found his friends, and they helped him find himself as well.
Charles regained his mind, and more than that a clarity. On what he could do and who he could be.
The first god died. Charles felt The Call clearer than ever before. New possibilities revealed themselves as he felt how far The Call could echo, and how it was not only his magic he could control...
Then, The Judge Fell, and everything changed.
The Relic of Law. That Which Draws The Line. Charles knew immediately. His Path would only grow now. But would the cycle only repeat? Charles was against this. There must be natural laws. Laws of magic, and fate. Esoteric concepts Charles can't see or influence yet. But Charles has a growing certainty that the laws of this world were broken long ago. Charles will amend this if he can.
