Shakuurzarpi
Basic Information
Anatomy
Shakuurzarpi are sexually dimorphic oviparous amphibians.
Genetics and Reproduction
The Shakuurzarpi are brood parasites, and throughout Akussanja the hosts seem to succumb to the Shakuurzarpi. This seems to be the evolutionary reason for the Telempathy of the animal. Shakuurzarpi are brood parasites who lay their eggs in other animals’ nests and dens, and force them to care for the eggs from incubation to hatching.
As was seen on Tinea-Fabre it is evident that the Shaakurzarpi will use a mafia hypothesis strategy for the hosts that will not comply. It seems the host organisms on Tinea-Fabre would not comply with the Telempathy and instead destroyed the eggs. Due to this it is hypothesized the Shaakurzarpi are greatly reliant on their co-evolution with the other species on Akussanja.
Ecology and Habitats
Shakuurzarpi are equally comfortable in the sea and on land but typically rest and hibernate in coastal
dens.
Dietary Needs and Habits
Carnivorous Apex Predators
Behaviour
Shakuurzarpi are solitary animals that meet only for mating and generally avoid contact with others
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
This animal is psionic with telepathic abilities though its language is still that of an animal. They use this to psionically ‘convince’ animals to do the job. Shakuurzarpi put this to other uses as well, such as forcing prey to succumb to their attacks or put two species into conflict with each other. Attempts to use it on humans and other animals of higher intelligence produces a mildly unsettling psionic effect but little else.
