Gilaash
Another of Tinea-Fabre’s native species, the gilaash is
a small herd animal that consumes the world’s native
grasses. The dangerous animals introduced to the
preserve have forced gilaashes into the surrounding
hills where they are safer from predation. Their food
supply is in the valleys and gaps between forested
areas, so they still come down to graze during daylight
hours in groups of 10–20 before retreating to the hills.
The changes to their habitat have had an effect on their
population. Their numbers have dropped precipitously
but those born with greater agility are better suited
to survive the changes. Females are equipped with
forward-curving antlers used to protect their young.

The Gilaash has been sold by the Duke of Alekvadin, as a herd for wool and meat consumption. There are the Duke's personal food used for the people of Tinea-Fabre and his own table, but he has exported herds to ranchers on other planets.
