The Greenhouses

History The Greenhouses of Wistross were founded with the opening of the school by the renowned botanist and alchemist, Elara Windgrove. Initially, these greenhouses were simple structures aimed at cultivating plants to assist the small alchemy department. As Wistross grew in prestige, the greenhouses expanded. They now contain an array of plants from the mundane to the incredibly rare magical flora. Over the centuries, many notable Discoveries, such as the creation of the Elixir of Eternal Bloom, have been made here. It's said that some of the magical plants in these greenhouses are unique to Wistross and cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Climate The greenhouses maintain a carefully controlled climate suited to a diverse range of plants. Each section simulates different environments, from tropical humidity to the cool, crisp air of mountainous regions. Specialized magical mechanisms ensure that each plant thrives in its ideal conditions. Notable Landmarks The central greenhouse dome, towering above the others, houses the Grand Arboreum – a colossal magical tree rumored to enhance the potency of nearby flora. The Luminescent Orchid Garden is another highlight, glowing softly with bioluminescent blooms that light up the night.
