The Ring of Kings

A ring of standing stones in The High Kingdom that is the traditional crowning place of the The High King. The Ring of Kings only appears when it is time for a new High King to be crowned. In olden days, after the King was crowned, he would be transported by the ring to the tower of his predecessor, which he would ritually seal as his predecessors tomb, and would then build his own tower, which would take the place of the Ring of Kings until his own death. Nowadays, the Ring of Kings is still used for coronations, but since these do not take place upon the death of kings, there is no tradition of tower building. Instead the High King rules from a more permanent capital, currently Nejard.
