Halflings

Halfling stories say that they are the children of Helim and Anaria and certainly both of those deities must bless them. They are some of the smallest of sentients, and yet they live lives of untroubled prosperity and happiness most of the time. They care little for empires or kingdoms, being a peaceful, agrarian people, liking nothing more than good food, fine ale and long stories told in the shade. Despite this, their villages have a way of not being found by those who wish them harm, and halflings themselves have both uncanny luck at avoiding danger and an ability to blend into the background when they don't want to be noticed. Halfling stories say that humans are actually halflings who lost their innocence and were entrapped by the elves into desiring things that they should not have wanted. Certainly all observers agree that humans and halflings are almost identical physically apart from their size and their feet. Halflings normally live in small villages amongst their own kind, although some will also live in mixed villages as well. Finding halflings in towns or cities, except passing through, is rare indeed.
