The Night of Broken Glass, the Nazi pogrom against Jews during which angels appeared trying to protect Jewish homes, shops, and synagogues. In addition to the 90 Jews who died and 30,000 taken to camps in the aftermath of Kristallnacht, nearly 70 angels were killed trying to protect them and stop the violence.
