Sages
Sages are elves who dedicate their lives to the study of Eco and the natural world, eco's properties and applications, as well as manipulating it either through technology or their bodies, or both.
There seems to be specific paths towards studying specific ecos, as none of the sages are seen studying past the basics of more than one, specializing in whatever fits their interests. Of course, with few examples to go off of, nothing is completely sure, but there are themes to a Sage's path, dependent on the nature and given abilities of whatever eco it is they're working with: Green Sages work with nature, blue with technology, yellow with hunting and weaponry, and red with strength and heavy industrial materials (such as metals).
It was shown with the Green Sage, that there may be certain trials and requirements given to them from the eco itself, such as Samos Hagai receiving the ability to speak with plants after meditating under the Great Tree with the life seed he cultivated.

Career
Qualifications
Sages are often chosen among elves who display a high level of intelligence, and the dedication of a lifetime to continuously pursue the study of their chosen eco.
Career Progression
As time goes on, a sage's abilities and connection with eco grows over time, their appearance and personality changes from the exposure, and they develop a wisdom that most other elves do not have.
Payment & Reimbursement
Sages are not paid for their work, however they are typically housed and taken care of by the settlement they live with, as their work brings a lot of benefit to the group of people around them: be it through the eco work itself, or the social recognition.
Other Benefits
Sages are typically highly respected and seen as leaders of their communities.
Perception
Purpose
To better understand the natural world, and to aid the people, in ways dependent on the type of eco being studied.
Social Status
Typically very high social status in LEA, however in Haven it was taboo and secretive.
Demographics
A very small number of elves to population pursue this as a career, probably because of how intense and long term it is.
History
It's unknown when Sages started their studies, but through out the LEA they reached their peak. After the metal head invasion, the reliance on sages drastically decreased, however it's unclear if they helped develop the technology later used by the elvish militaries, especially concerning eco supply, weaponry and security.
Operations
Tools
Sages typically have tools that help them manipulate eco, specifics determined by the individual.
Materials
The only standardized material would be the eco itself, everything else is up to the individual sage.
Workplace
Sages traditionally (LEA) have some sort of lab where they conduct their studies, research and experiments, as well as whatever else the Sage may be up to (for example, building technology).
Provided Services
Information on Eco and Natural processes, Technological advances, and more specified services depending on the eco.
Dangers & Hazards
Working with eco will alter one's appearance and personality, however some ecos are much more dangerous to work with than others, Dark Eco being the infamous example.
It's unclear if under Haven rule Sagehood is considered illegal, as the only example available is Samos Hagai, who is considered a criminal for leading the Underground and trying to stop the Baron from killing off Dead Town. How much this has to do with his sagehood is unknown, however the KG do attempt to arrest him before he becomes a sage while meditating at the Great Tree.
Outside Haven, especially in the LEA, Sages are considered an important part of every day life and heavily encouraged. Later, they are typically replaced with soothsayers or the more religious monks.
