Shields of Atrena
The Shields of Atrena is group of dedicated believers that act in defense of all life on Atrena's behalf. They exist outside of all empires and people and seek to serve the world as a whole. They employ adventures, both internal and external, to seek out all threats to life. This usually takes the form of hunting down roaming bands of bandits, goblins, orcs, etc. They receive most of their funding from city and business officials looking to keep people safe and trade flowing. They mostly offer their services for free to any settlement that needs them and relay on the goodwill of city leaders to keep them in business. On the rare occasion when they do charge for their services it usually only to cover any losses that the organization may suffer.
Structure
Though there is technically no official leader most of the members look up to Larsa as the semi official organizational leader.
Culture
The members of The Shields of Atrena are held to an incredibly high standard. The organization tolerates no misdeeds among its members and thus has built a culture of lawful good people. Each member is dedicated to the preservation and protection of life among the civilized people. They seek out evil and eradicate it where they can. They have a special hatred of undead who they perceive as a perversion of life.
Public Agenda
The Shields primary goal is to protect the people of the world from danger. Typically they take a defensive approach, defending the town or people in danger. When needed, they become proactive and venture out in the world to actively hunt down evil. In their eyes, being the stalwart defender of innocents lives is more important than dungeon diving to seek out some abstract potential evil.
Assets
The Shields maintain small outposts all across the known world, most are located in major towns which send out scouts to nearby villages to see if any issues are in need of solving. They hold a small number of castles namely Whitehold Keep, Castle Mirador, and Fort Elden. The guild has around 2,000 members spread out across the world.
