Gap: Introductory Guide
The Gaps were first formed when the Emperor Mukhadori of House Mukh in the Empire of Basat tore reality apart to access the High Ashad Isha and the five thousand refugees sheltering from his armies in what would become Amin Duum. This event was called The Rending.
Tearing open reality led to the first two Gaps, an egressive Gap at what became the Nas Ashca, and the first ingressive Gap in Amin Duum. Rather than allowing the Emperor Mukhadori to reach Isha, the stability of reality collapsed and destroyed Basat. The Nas Ashca was later developed on its ruins.
Over time, further Gaps tore open, firstly in the areas immediately around Amin Duum and the Nas Ashca, such as Rad Amaya Exclusion Zone and Rad Ulgesh Exclusion Zone. Access to the Dragon Reality was established Nas Isca Exclusion Zone, the only ingressive/egressive Gap. Finally, further Gaps appeared as instability spread over the centuries following the end of the The Rending War. Further Gaps were identified at what became Nas Trinitar Exclusion Zone, Am Rune Exclusion Zone and, finally, Rad Ruinn Exclusion Zone.
Exclusion Zones were established at each location to prevent the damaging unstable forces from spreading and to keep the Gaps from opening permanently. When the fundamental forces of reality (magic) become too unstable, Gaps re-open. This has two effects:
- Fundamental forces are further destabilised, which can have profound effects on people and the environment.
- Creatures, colloquially known as Demons flood into our reality.
It is the work of the Amnari Alliance to restabilise reality and close the Gaps. As a collective, we hope one day to close the Gaps for good, permanently stabilising reality.
