The Ripple

'' Sure I've sailed past the Ripple but no captain o mine as ever been big enough of a fool to sail in between the rocks. These islands have seen more than their fair share of sunken ships and drowned sailors. They say the waters are alive around the Ripple and that they have murderous intents. You best steer clear of these cursed water and or you just may end up another one of these wailing souls haunting you can hear from afar.'' - Selyon Greyfoot, first mate aboard the Red Squall
Right where the Irinis Ocean and the Swiftwave Sea meet lies the archipelago commonly known as the Ripple. This unusual names was inspired by the unusual placement of the mountainous islands in a somewhat circular and outgoing pattern. These islands are off any major trading routes and aside from the most travelled sailors, not a lot of people have seen the archipelago. Even tough not many can boast of seeing this strange archipelago even from afar, legends and stories abound about the Ripple. Some say the place was the scene of an ancient cataclysm, others that an old and evil sea god rests under the waves waiting to emerge again and lay wreck to the coasts and many other stories are exchanged in taverns all around Amesdar. Some sailors even claim that they have sailed between the rocks but are these stories the truth or just boasting and lies?
Expeditions have been sent to the Ripple and some even claim to have reached the islands at the periphery of the archipelago but most sailors will assure you that none ever made it pass the outer edge. None as ever been able to prove that they've made it to the center but the theories and stories abound.
