Uhl-Kante

The Uhl-Kante can refer to both a region and a people. The people are very nomadic, when asked where ones neighbors went it's often a wave in a general direction to indicate which direction their caravan traveled.
The wide open and arid desert has left wildlife rare and fast. This drove the Uhl-Kante to become excellent horsepeople and proficient with ranged weapons. No hare is safe from a Uhl-Kante sling.
They are arranged by clans, large family groups of hundreds of fighting men and women loyal to the Kan-Head. The clan takes priority over all other social group and as a result they tend to think about things in terms of generations, not years. This leads them to be excellent negotiators and strategizers. In negotiations they refer to treaties between people as an "eon," but refer to small deals made between individuals as "uvgah" a play on their word for mistake.
As the civilizations around them chose to settle into land the Uhl-Kante pushed back against setting down roots, preferring the freedom associated with moving constantly.
