Atë

Are we all insane or it it just the absinth I've been sipping on?   Atë is a goddess of trickery and of randomness. She is the third born child of The One True.

Nature

"If the ocean stood where it was, how close would man court danger?"   She is known to be impetuous. She finds pleasure in the changing tides. It is often said that she's the one who bring the spring and the winter, but in most version of her it is Ate who brings the spring snow and the winter sunshine. Balance to harsh times.   She works to frustrate those who plan. It is she the gods of fortune fear. When you pray for good luck, you pray that Atë sees you not.

Family

She is born of The One True and while being his favourite daughter, she is not one who can walk his halls freely. She will rule after him, but it is his other children who will keep her in check.   It is said that she gave birth to the world of Hel as her only option to actually create order. Atë believed in a life after death, but there was no such thing before she began, only the abyss of R'lyeh. She created a world one what conflicted with the life her father had created and one that was an a front to The Master of R'lyeh, Hel a place between world. It is a shame that such a master of chaos would build a world of pain, torture and insanity and hand it over to those more wicked than herself.

Appearance

As a god She is often depicted as a woman holding a snake in one hand and an empty bow in the other while riding a pegausus. As a human She shifts sex and race and is whatever helps her get whatever she needs, she often has a crown of three pronged leaves with small purple berries. They aren't always a crown but are almost always visible.
"And Caliphus spirit, ranging for revenge, With Atë' by his side come hot from Hell, Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war"
