Duke Baldur born 700 Q.E to King Ezra of Cyrril and his 3rd wife Alaina the Maiden. He was the 11th child of the King and has since passed away.
Baldur was very charismatic from a young age, a hard worker and a charmer. Being the last child in a long line of successful children King Ezra did not expect much of Baldur but Baldur surpassed every expectation Ezra ever had. Enrolling into a political school at 16 and graduating only 2 years later Baldur was proving to be a very talented ruler. He worked as an administrator for his Father and would often help him daily in his Kingly duties. Due to this Baldur had a special place in King Ezra's heart.
At age 20 Baldur moved to the court of Kahyrst and quickly inherited the City as its leader after bolstering its economy due to his good rulership knowledge. He served as Duke of Kahyrst for 7 years until his untimely death.
A lesser-known side of Duke Baldur was that he was secretly an Aranos supporter and he poured in a lot of effort into finding a way to revive Aranos. To do his jobs he often times hired adventurers who asked no questions, all this would change however when he hired the adventurers Mizolek, Jayhawk, Matranko, Pippin Goldwood, and Xen. During a retrieval mission in the Halls of Edar, the adventurers unintentionally caught wind of Baldur's plot to revive Aranos. It was then they decided to pursue him and thwart his plan. After months of being on Baldur's heels, they finally faced him in the Hall of Champions in which Aranos's trial was held. Baldur was prepared however and had hired skilled mercs to fight the adventurers.
However, what he wasn't prepared for was Matranko's gambit. Matranko broke a staff of magi during the struggle and Xen teleported the party away, Matranko also managed to escape. The resulting arcane blast subsequently killed and disintegrated Baldur and his mercs. All except two of them, Roark Ethos and Beric Hammer, survived.
The Adventurers informed Ezra of his son's death and provided evidence for what he did. Ezra was grief-stricken but chose not to tarnish Duke Baldur's legacy and so Baldur's death was attributed to a hunting accident.

Baldur of Kahyrst is the youngest son of King Ezra, King Ezra fathered Baldur at the age of 65. Being the youngest son Baldur did not really have any expectations put on him. This ironically caused him to be hyper-ambitious and he proved himself to be a very capable and intelligent person. Due to this Ezra gave him the city of Kahyrst to rule which proved to be an incredibly wise choice as Baldur rules it very efficiently.
