Kon (Ko-en)

孤猿 (a.k.a. Stray Monkey)

A legendary orc whose story is a collage of conflicted feelings to many different peoples. A warrior who betrayed everything for nothing; an paragon of civilization and progress; a slave who rose too high.

History has come to know this warrior as simply "Kon"

Kon was known to wear distinctive red splint-mail armour on the battlefield with a ferocious monkey helm and his signature weapon The Momobunha (桃分捕) or "Peach Picker" a fearsome double thick katana. Named so, for Kon's ability to pluck enemies heads from their bodies like peaches.

Personal history

Kon was born in what is now The Dwarven Reach during the Nightfall War in -437 Ancient. A time of strife for the orc people. Though little is known of his early life, he is believed to have served as an orc warrior participating in raids against dwarven settlements, killing soldiers, women, and children alike. Some believe that it was after a particularly brutal raid, something changed in Kon and he sought a new path.
He abandoned his people and betrayed them for the dwarves. He surrendered himself to the dwarven warlord, Endo He who wears colours to war. It was expected that Endo would simply execute the orc but instead he took the young warrior in. It is unknown if it was mercy or curiosity which spared Endo's hand.
As the warrior was trained in the dwarven ways of war, his trainers and nobles began to mockingly refer to the orc as 孤猿 (Ko-en) or "Stray Monkey". This humiliating name stuck and has been recorded many ways such as Kon, Kongus, and Conen.   
Kon fought loyally alongside his lord for many years. Slaying dozens of his kin for years. Earning him some respect amongst the dwarves though he was never considered one of them.
Towards the end of the war in -447, Endo was betrayed by a lieutenant Mitsuhide, the flowing river, for reasons unknown to history. Kon fought bravely to save his lord but ultimately failed and was captured. When brought to Mitsuhide, the upstart lord refused to execute Kon claiming "The beast does not deserve a proper warrior death and will never have such honour".  
Sadly, after this Kon disappears from the historical record. Legends and folklore say that Kon became cursed with immortality. Forever to shamefully wander the lands seeking a warriors death.
