Free Archetypes
- Every character receives a free archetype feat at level 2 and every even level thereafter.
- If a player chooses not to use a free archetype, they may receive a free class feat at level 2 and every even level thereafter.
- On even levels (after level 2), players can choose up to two class or archetype feats (in any combination).
- Archetype feat restrictions are removed.
Ability boosts
- Instead of upgrading their abilities on level 5, 10, 15, and 20, players will upgrade a single ability on levels 2-5, 7-10, 12-15, and 17-20.
- In each ability boost “cycle,” players cannot upgrade an ability more than once.
- For example: if Dexterity is upgraded as the first ability boosted in the level 2-5 cycle, it cannot be boosted again until the level 7-10 cycle.
Crafting
- The amount of time to craft items, consumable or otherwise, is reduced to 1 day if you pay full price for the item.
- If you wish to pay half price for the item, you can increase the crafting time up to 4 days if you announce this at the start of crafting the item(s).
- A critical success on the crafting check will reduce the number of extra days to 2, unless traveling.
- Characters will still need to pay full price for formulas and plans.
- If crafting while traveling, the extra time to reduce the price takes 4 days no matter what.
Extra focus points
- Spellcasting classes will receive 2 extra focus points, one at level 6 and the second at level 12.
- This will bring the max number of focus points to 5 at level 12.
Signature Skills
- All Characters receive training in a skill that best represents their training and background.
- At 3rd level this improves to expert; at 7th level this improves to master; and at 15th level this improves to legendary.
Superior Spellcasting
- For Spontaneous Spellcasters, they now treat all of their spells known as signature spells
- Additionally during their daily preparations, spontaneous casters can make a check with the skill associated with their tradition to swap a spell they have known for a different spell of the same level of the same tradition
- The DC for this check is the standard DC for the level of spell being swapped out
- For Prepared Spellcasters they can prepare a number of spells equal to their spell slots and treat their spells as if they were a spontaneous spellcaster
