Zydeca's Hive 1} Zydeca, Julwae, and Thresh

Zydeca played by Orange, Julwae played by Kiwi, Thresh played by Kiki
Slamming the door open, Zyd realized it was still gripping the wrist of that ironblood. It immediately let go, before double-immediately closing and locking the door. Its lusus, a slothesque being, was sitting up in a cat tower-like structure, looking down upon the events. She was relatively relaxed, especially when compared to her entirely on-edge charge. For its part, Zyd had no idea what to do now. It gestured toward a bean bag chair (how could it have so many bean bag chairs? They littered the entire space,) as though to tell Julwae to take a seat.
Julwae sat down and dropped her bag. She was shaking in fear and trying to get herself to calm down. Everything was spinning for her and she started to cry. "O-oh gog please don't hurt me"
"UH-- I'm not going to hurt you. DOn't worry. I Just, panicked, back there." It could feel that its efforts to calm the other weren't really working, and flashed a look to slothmom for help. She seemed to sigh, before slowly crawling down from her cat tower, revealing her extra pair of arms and approaching the apparent hostage. A nice, soft sloth. With extra arms.
She sniffled and hiccupped. She wanted to throw up and she held her head with his hands. "Wh- what was that whats happening" She started to hyperventilate
"LOok, I," it didn't really have an answer, but needed to keep talking. "I Was just running that lusus, see, and I can't afford to get caught, and you know my whole name now-- which was my mistake-- and I think you have me drawn now, which also doesn't help, okay?" Truly bad at comforting. Slothmom crawled up near Jul's lap, taking the effort to not make any sudden moves or appear particularly threatening.
She sniffled and started to cry "Oh my gog now I'm involved in something illegal." She gasped and grabbed her arms. She shrunk in on herself and shook her head
A slow, double-pat on the back, from slothmom. "NO, no, you're not 'involved.' TEchnically, at least, you're a little involved, but not really. THe point is, stop worrying about it, okay? I'M working it out." By working it out, Zyd mostly meant trying not to panic itself.
She sniffled and wiped her face off. She tried to get herself involved "I just wanted to draw I need to stay inside why did I ever leave oh gog my Lusus was right" She Leaned over and gasped for air again
"YOur lusus?" Depending on what kind of lusus this troll had, that might be a problem. Getting tracked down in your own hive, however temporary it may be, wouldn't be good news. Slothmom was content with patting Jul on the back, entirely convinced that it was a helpful gesture.
She sniffled and held her arms still freaking out a bit. "My Lusus told me to stay in" She took her glasses off and wiped her eyes off.
In an effort to stay calm, Zyd didn't immediately grab Jul by the shoulders and shake the information out of her. "YOur lusus told you to stay inside. WHat kind of lusus do you have." It kept its voice flat to keep it from cracking, this could be very, very bad.
She panicked at being touched and she shoved at it's face "Stop please-" She tried to get it off her panic attack starting to come back. Her head was spinning and her heart was pounding.
knock knock its a great time for the door to be knocked on
Zyd let go of her, slumping back into one of the (way too many) bean bag chairs. What was it going to do. "SOrry, I'm just, we're both going thro--" a knock on the door. "IF it's you, Thresh, I gotta warn you that the door's locked. YOu know how to get in."
She shook still and took deep breaths trying not to think of all the ways she could end up dead. She rubbed her face again And took a breath
Thresh unlocks the door, pushing it open as dramatically as possible. "Oh, come on, how could you lock me out like tha-"
He closes the door behind him slowly, locking it and glancing at Jul.
Zyd. Did you kidnap someone? Who is this."
"UH, well, you know how you gave me that job, to get one of those wild lusii to the shop. WEll, I wasn't given enough sedative for it, and it woke up right in the middle of the Caff." A terrible code name, but one that worked well enough. "THe thing is, this troll, uh, Julwae? WAs right there. ANd I freaked out." It didn't move from the beanbag chair, instead choosing to sink even further down. Both hair and glasses were covering its face, now, obscuring effectively any expression it would make. What was it going to do.
Julwae looked at Thresh even more terrifed. There was a highblood here now. She sniffled and hiccupped. This was the end for her she was going to get killed and thrown in the river and who was even going to remember her other than her Lusus. Oh god what a horrible demise.
He quickly shot Zyd a look that said 'zydeca you dumb motherfucker this is the worst possible way you could have handled this and i am going to kill you the second this person leaves this room', then smiled at her warmly and sat down in front of her. "Well hello, Julwae. Don't worry, we aren't going to hurt you. Can you tell me what happened over in the cafe?"
She sniffled and looked at him. She shakily put her glasses back on. "Well I was there and drawing and Zyd walked over, then there was this big snake thing" She sniffled and rubbed her face. "I'm not going to tell anyone I swear I just want to go home"
"THe lusus escaped. ANd she has information on me. AGain, we're not looking to hurt you. BUt I don't know if we can just let you leave." Zyd raised an arm while talking, to punctuate its statements. Slothmom was honestly not really listening, simply continuing to methodically pat Jul's back.
". . . it escaped?
Uh. What information do you have?
Don't worry! We won't hurt you. You're perfectly safe here. We just need to know everything and you can be right on your way home! I can even walk you home, if you'd like." His smile seemed genuine, and definitely meant something. It seemed like what he was saying was very honest. Very honest . . .
"That's all I know I just- I know it's name but I swear I just want to be left alone" She sniffled looking at Thresh still.
"YOu know my name, and what I look like, and where I live, now. WHy wouldn't you call the cops on me? YOu even know I had that lusus on me, and that's a big no-no. YOu don't have anything to lose, really. ANd you didn't answer me. WHat kind of lusus do you have?" While Thresh's presence wasn't exactly calming, it at least helped Zyd feel less like it had to manage everything all at once.
Julwae started crying again "Please I just want to go home, I don't care about this and I'm scared of the cops, and my Lusus is just an alpaca"
"An alpaca?" He looked at Zyd and nodded. "I think you should be safe, then. "
He shifted his gaze back to Julwae.
"Now.
You didn't see any of this, riiiight? You didn't see any of what happened."
Zyd simply looked on. As a goldblood, it wouldn't have much clout, but a threat from a violetblood? That would probably do the trick. It's not like the ironblood would be any help, not with all the panicking she'd been doing. Alpaca, though, that was... soothing. At least it wasn't some kind of wolf lusus, or a bird of prey.
She snook her head violently. "No no no I didn't see anything see what what," she took a breath "No I didn't see anything"
"Yeah, see? It's okay. And can we keep that drawing, if possible? We'll keep that safe, too. We don't want any harm done to you or your art.
Would you like us to walk you home safely?"
Zyd shifted, ready to stand and ensure Jul's safety. As well as it could, at least. It wasn't much higher up on the pecking order, and probably wouldn't be able to stop Thresh from killing Jul if he really wanted to. Thresh likely wouldn't necessarily do so, of course. Still, though, it felt the need to accompany them both, just in case.
Julwae stood up "n-no I think I'll just walk myself." She looked at her sketchbook and whimpered as she tore the page out of it. She hated doing that it felt like she just kicked a puppy. She held the drawing out
He took it, being careful not to bend it at all. "You should really keep drawing, y'know? You're very good at this." He passed it onto Zyd. "Are you sure? It's really not safe around here. I don't mind walking you. It's no trouble at all, I promise."
Zyd laid the drawing out on a nearby (definitely stolen, and rather poorly-constructed) table, sitting back with the intent of monitoring the situation. Certainly, it wouldn't leave Thresh and Jul alone for too long, not knowing Thresh. Heck, the main reason it was in this line of work was because of him, though the original death threats certainly faded over time.
She looked at them nervously she really didn't want either of them to know where she lived. They were being persistent though and she didn't know where she was. Ugh oh god "Alright" She mumbled nervously
"Alright! On we go, then, yeah?" He gestured over towards Zyd. "Let's go take her home, okay?"
Zyd nodded, pushed its hair out of its face, and struggled briefly to get out of the bean bag chair. Once on its feet, it unlocked the door again, to let the other two out. "SOrry about kind of kidnapping you, but, you know how it is." It immediately realized that Jul would not know how it is, but chose not to amend its statement. Frankly, it was a little exhausted from all the excitement of the day, and it knew that the trouble absolutely wasn't over. Was it going to have to pretend to be an oliveblood again?
She grabbed her bag and stood up. She gently pat sloth mom on the head as a thank you for the comfort. Her eyes darted From Zydeca to Thresh nervously as she walked towards the door. She kept herself vigilant as she was still terrifed of the two of them.
Thresh opened the door and nodded at them both to go in front of him and readied to lock the door. "So where do you live? Out near the city, or . . ?"
