The Censorate of Magic

With magic being the backbone of the Empire's Military Supermacy, the control and regulation of that magic is a high priority for the Empire. The Magical Boulueterion was created to oversee all magical business within the Empire and the Censorate of Magic is the executive arm of that powerful organization.

The Order of Inspection

The censorate's Inspectors are a new sight in Seafront, but for the past decade, they have made it a serious mission to investigate even the smallest settlements for those with the spark of magic, a mission that has been largely successful. To seek out those that have either an innate ability in the mystical arts or a supreme intellect capable of mastering the esoteric material is one of their major responsibilities as well as auditing businesses and being alert for any rumor of renegade mages breaking the Boulueterion's magical prescriptions.

Witch Hunters

The Witch Hunters of the Censorate have an entirely different mission. For the last few centuries, the magic within Seafront had been a largely unsupervised, local leaders only deciding to pool resources together to deal with exceptional power and threatening mages when the need arose. Since the Empire's conquering of Seafront, Witch Hunters have been an uncommon but serious sight. Witch Hunters are charged with securing any dangerous magics, prosecuting those that break the Empire's Magical Law; unlicensed casters capable of 3rd level or higher casting or those who cast spells deemed illegal, and retrieving dangerous magical items.   Following the inundation of the Empire's Authority within Seafront, entire divisions of Witch Hunters were deployed against witches, wizards, and sorcerers who had for a long time been unchallenged within the areas they claimed as their domains. These conflicts often left the land so scarred that people today can still read the battle by the destruction of the land.   Only the druids of the Glade of Alandill were initially free from the meddling of the censorate, but since the Armistice of Singer's Rest the shamans of the Seekers have also been granted clemency. Of note, the Seekers were forced to give full leave to ten of the Censorate's Inspectors to roam their lands unchallenged as part of the armistice treaty. Within the lower-third, however, the censorate is an ever-present power.
