Chlio of Urana
Chlio of Urana
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Lithe and curved from a life of dancing and travel. Chlio is toned, but carries enough weight to amplify her features. Her short stature is something that is both a weakness and a strength. She can't reach high shelves in close spaces, but it really helps when she needs to put on the puppy dog eyes.
Chlio's wings are quite large when fully outstretched, but fairly light and thin, allowing back lighting to affect how the patterns on the underside are perceived. She moves with grace and balance, with quick hands and quicker feet.
Body Features
Chlio has very fair skin, nearly white pinkish hair, and ruby red eyes, with stark batlike wings upon her lower back. Her wings, when outstretched, resemble stained glass, or even a kaleidoscope, from the underside; appearing to have greater depths to them than possible due to the holographic nature of them.
Chlio's canines and nails are more prominent than others may suspect, given her half elven appearance (should one miss the wings).
Identifying Characteristics
Chlio is easy to spot in a crowd (a short one, at least) given her nearly albino appearance. She has fair skin, nearly white hair with a pearlescent pink sheen, and bat-like wings on her lower back, whose underside can be described as holographic or kaleidoscopic due to the color and depth variations they appear to have from different angles. Some have described her wings as looking into the eternity of the night sky through stained glass.
Physical quirks
Chlio tends to keep her wings down and hidden if not performing, both to reduce standing out more and to allow her an exotic flair to use in performances. She does this by resting them under the flowing layers of her skirt.
Apparel & Accessories
Chlio wears a revealing white lace and chiffon dancing costume, with ruffles, loose sheer sleeves, and an incredibly daring to-the-groin neckline. The skirt of the bodice has long flowing layers on the sides and back, creating great movement during her dances, and allowing a place to subtly hide her wings.
Silver rings adorn her hands and outfit, glistening and chiming as she plays her instruments and dances her stories. Several bejeweled rings line the ends of her wings, appearing like stars against the night sky. She wears a silver laurel and matching pearlescent floral accessories in her hair, reminiscent of the flowers of her home town of Whitehide.
On her left anklet she wears a silver anklet inlaid with abalone and topaz; the sole surviving relic of her parent's collection.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Chlio was raised in a small farming collective outside of Whitehide, by her two loving parents until their untimely demise at her age of 13. Afterwards, she was cared for by the rest of the collective, who gathered funds and resources to allow her skills to be developed with a traveling troupe of performers and storytellers.
During her teen years, Chlio dove deeply into developing her craft, both to memorialize her parents and what they taught her, but also as a means of accomplishing her goals: discovering the truth behind her parents' apparent murder and what The Choir of Chiroptos had to do with it. She traveled all across Kalokairi with her troupe, her new family, learning how others told their stories, and how they kept their secrets. Though her travels rarely brought her to the goal of her ambitions, the cult known as The Watchers, they did help her develop the skills her parents taught her, as well as developing her natural talents and connections across the Isle.
It was through those connections that, in her early 20s, she was able to find details of an upcoming Watcher's Pyre. She would leave her troupe, blessed with goods to sell and money to spend to get her to Knightstar.
Education
Chlio was taught basic education and lore by her scholarly parents, with an emphasis in legends and lore. Her mother taught her the history, sciences, legends, and lore, while her father taught her dancing, singing, and music. Chlio was never agriculturally inclined herself, so in her teens she left to pursue further education in the performing arts with a traveling troupe of performers.
Employment
Chlio makes her way performing dances, telling stories, and singing for tips. Additionally, she picks up temp jobs, does some dungeon delving for wares to sell, and otherwise gets by through the good will of those she meets. Always a firm believer in reciprocity over mooching, she'll do what she can to provide service to those who aid her as best she can. She is, however, a strong believer that the stories and arts she provides to the people and the world hold real value, and is not too shy to accept payment (though she won't withhold them from a curious and well meaning empty--pocketed audience, either). The service trade is even more valuable than gold to a person like Chlio.

Dancer of the Urana Family, last of her line, Chlio travels Zeniophos in search of The Watchers, to find the truth of her land's legends and lore, and the truth of her connection to the mysterious Choir of Chiroptos.
