Alymatrea's Twin Moons
Before the Wave, there was a single moon orbiting the planet Earth. After the Wave, the light and dark sides of the moon split, and became two distinct entities. The Light Moon drew closer to Earth, and the Dark Moon continued the labors of tending the tides from the grace of the void.
The Light Moon gained a populace which grew and thrived until the moon was destroyed by the Wurm God of Light, with the small debris forming a light scattering of rings that now circle the Earth. The larger debris from the destruction continues to function as a moon-like entity.
The Dark Moon's orbit drew it nearer, into the atmosphere, where it also gained inhabitants.
