Circlet of Shak'kt'lor

This delicate piece of artistry is made of some unknown, dark metal. Within the delicate swirling of the blackened metal, balance three silver stones that appear to be moving, like quicksilver. The circlet is from the Plane of Limbo and is a material that is saturated with the psionics of the gith. It is said to have been gifted to the githzerai by Astilabor, a dragon who resides on the Plane of Limbo. It found its way to the Material Plane after a githyanki raid on Shak'kt'lor with the help of Drakavor, an ancient red dragon, where they stole many of the artifacts residing in the city's towers. Some of these artifacts were lost among the Astral Sea and others were lost during githyanki raids gone awry.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

While wearing this item, the circlet can shield one's thoughts from detection. The circlet has 3 charges, allowing the wearer to cast detect thoughts for one charge. Every 24 hours the circlet regains 1d4-1 charges, and if all 3 charges are used up, the player needs to roll a percentile die over 20, or else the circlet loses all its power and the 3 stones turn to dust.
