Session 4 - Seeing Double
General Summary
The party, looking over the ReQuest Board meets a Tiefling named @Nowhere looking for work. After deciding on the job Kings Throne Archeology, the party rests for the evening. Setting off in the morning towards Town of Harbington, the party makes their way towards the Library where they meet Dr. Skala Tealeaf. After some quick shopping for fruits and weapons the party sets off towards The Kings Throne. Upon arriving, Dr. Skala Tealeaf show the party the old arcane symbols he found around the base of the rock formation. @Nowhere is able to identify the marking as ancient celestial arcane symbols. Dr. Skala Tealeaf shouts a command word that activates the runes, causing The Kings Throne to lift and levitate over, revealing an old stone carved stairway leading down into the earth.
The stairway leads down to the Kings Throne Crypt. Where the party spends time investigating the walls and the sarcophagus. Upon opening the sarcophagus, the party finds a Gardurhut inside. The party confused with the two Garduhuts along with the confused Gardurhuts start asking a flurry of questions to the duplicate (GD). Any question the Garduhut asks GD about their past, GD is able to answer. When Gardurhut cuts his hand a scar forms on GD, however when the hand on GD is cut no scar appears on Gardurhut. The party continues investigating the room.
When using the source of light to investigate the inside of the sarcophagus, the party finds scratch marks all along the inside. When pulling the light source out of the sarcophagus, the party notices that GD has disappeared. Running outside the party sees no sign of GD. The party proceeds to put Gardurhut inside the sarcophagus, the arcane rune lights up, and they run back outside to see if they can find GD. After a few minutes the party notices a pitch black raven perched on one of the "arms" of The Kings Throne watching them. With a shot from his bow, Rolen kills the raven with one arrow. With a caw, the raven dissipates into arcane energy and fades. Complete silence falls over the party, no rustling grass, no sounds of animals out in the distant, just silence. The party runs down to grab Garduhut from the sarcophagus. Gardurhut, confused as to why they keep opening and closing the lid starts asking questions. The party comes to the conclusion that while in the sarcophagus one experiences the passage of time differently as well as wounds being healed.
The party makes their way back outside and uses the command word to close the crypt. Noticing dark storm clouds heading in their direction from the Penrith Forest, the party decides to head back to the Town of Harbington's library with Dr. Skala Tealeaf.
