A blade worse than death

A night black blade forged of a rare Ziel infused mineral. This sleek black blade leads to a bronze hilt that has ancient abyssal symbols etched into it. The handle of the sword looks as if it's wrapped with old bandages that dangle off the end of the handle. On the butt of the handle has a smooth sphere shaped onyx. The blade naturally applies necrotic damage to those unlucky enough to be struck by it. But those even more unfortunate as to be slain by the blade will have their soul trapped in the onyx gem in the blade.
When a persons soul become trapped inside the onyx the blade feeds off their Ziel. This adds additional effects to the blades power by applying cold damage as well. The soul also can be entirely expended if the user wishes to cast a weaker spell.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The onyx on the end of the handle of the sword is magical naturally. This allowed for the general enchanting of the sword to be an easier process. The bandages are worn cloth that appear to have spent years on the handle, they are primarily used for grip and comfort
