History

The Eleias are an ethnicity of human and related species like half-elf and half-orc. The Eleias originate from twisted experiments performed on abducted children by a deranged wizard. This wizard was attempting to manifest the soul and powers of elementals into the bodies of humans. The idea behind this was that he could use these elemental people in order to infiltrate cities and towns and perform stealth missions. The wizard would perform surgery on these kids and place runes and script on the inside of their body similar to the summoning circles used to create elementals. The original trial caused the elementals to be summoned and resulted in the instant death of the host body. The second trial caused an overload of Ziel to run through the hosts body effectively short circuiting their brain killing them. The third trial resulted in the birth of the Eleias, the elementals powers were summoned into the body of the child, but the soul and obedience of the elemental never materialized.

Powers

This resulted in a human with extremely powerful and specialized magical capabilities. This summoning replaced the natural Ziel that existed in its hosts and introduced a new Ziel previously unseen before in people. This new Ziel is incapable of producing any other kind of magic besides the element that the elemental was. But the perk of this was the massively potent magic power the Ziel possessed, Eleias are capable of wielding their element with extreme precision and ease. It takes an extremely low amount of their Ziel to cast spells. Some of the more skilled Eleias are capable of turning their body into their respectable element.

Looks

Eleias have the same look as their respective species. There is only one sure fire way for someone to be determined as an Eleias. When using magic or in times of extreme distress an Eleias veins begin to glow the color of their element, their iris's becoming a bright shade of their elements color. People speculate this occurs because of the activation of the runes and script within them.

Culture

Shared customary codes and values

The Eleias are a reserved people, they commonly prefer to keep to themselves and don't get too involved in their communities. The biggest value that is shared between the Eleias are their close ties of family. To the Eleias family is everything and they'll protect each other ferociously. This immense family tie stems from the original Eleias ancestors who were all abducted as children. All these children had were each other and as the survivors grew up they passed on these ideals to their children.

Common Etiquette rules

The Eleias people don't intend to be rude but they prefer to remain to themselves and their family. An Eleias is more likely to give you a sign of acknowledgement instead of saying hello. Some people go as far to say that the Eleias are just an extremely paranoid group of people. Many times this has lead to the isolation of an Eleias family from a town.   When it comes to Eleias on Eleias interactions they are very open and accepting of each other. While many people are jealous of their unique and powerful Ziel the Eleias view it as more of a curse. There are many friendly rivalries among the Eleias. Each element believes that their is the most powerful and useful. Many times Eleias families will get together and have friendly competitions involving their elements.

Common Dress code

While the Eleias don't adhere to a strict dress code many of them prefer to wearing longer and bigger clothing. They do this just to cover up as much of their bodies while still trying to look natural. They do this because they worry about the possibility of having a highly stressful encounter that could trigger their Ziel to begin acting up.

Common Taboos

The biggest taboo of the Eleias is for Eleias of different elements to have children together. They fear this could have deadly effects upon the child. In fact most Eleias have families with non-Eleias people. Thats how serious of a taboo this is. The only other notable taboo of the Eleias is Eleias on Eleias crime. They are a very tight knit people who respect each other despite their friendly rivalries. To steal or murder another Eleias is practically unthinkable.

Historical figures

As the Eleias are a newer ethnicity in the history of Altheria they haven't had many opportunities to etch their names into history but one Eleias named Arthur Mellian a water element performed an incredibly remarkable feat. Arthur saved his entire town from a raging forest fire by exposing himself as an Eleias. He activated his inner elemental and was able to use magic that moved the water from a nearby pond and blast streams of it into the forest fire to protect the town.

Ideals

Relationship Ideals

To this point in time two Eleias have never produced a child together. Many Eleias fear what could possibly happen if two different element Eleias have a child. This fear has kept the Eleias from reproducing with each other. Most Eleias try and take part in normal relationships and form happy families. When having children the Eleias have found that their powers are recessive in the reproduction process. This means it is rare for an Eleias child to actually be an Eleias.

Major organizations

The Eleias do have a private organization that is strictly for them. The Elementypes as it's called was formed in order to keep the Eleias connected and informed of world events. That is at least what common folk believe it is, but the Elementypes was truly formed to keep and share information about a cult that had formed over the last few years. This cult worships the deranged wizard who performed the vile experiments on the original Eleias. The current Eleias fear that this cult will begin hunting down known Eleias as sacrifice for the wizard.
