Ascendants
Ascendants are individuals who have transcended death, but the road to Ascendancy varies per individual. They are more or less immortal but can be killed. Some reach it by means of personal power, some are born with it, sometimes it's a gift or the power is taken from someone else. The core is always an inner power and a strong will. The longer someone is ascendend, the more alien and different their view on others and the world becomes. This means that the actions of ascendants are often incomprehensible for mere mortals.
Ascendants possess some sort of power (magic, personality, or something else) that gives them an unusual degree of efficacy. When ascendants act, their actions cause ripples in the world around them. Power draws power like a magnet and can result in an con-flux of energies.
When mortals start worshiping an ascendant he/she can become a god with enough followers. This creates a bond between the followers and the ascendants and they will influence each other. The ascendant god will take up a portfolio of divine power and be shaped by it. Some ascendants don't like being worshiped and will discourage the worship of them as god.
