A virulent plague spreads through Calantor. The gnomish population is by far the hardest hit, and gnomes are considered plaguebearers. To stop the epidemic all gnomes, infected as well as healthy are rounded up and placed in the ghetto presently known as the Tattertown. A lot of vacant gnomish property are auctioned off during the three year long confinement - forcing many of the few gnomish survivors to stay in Tattertown even after the internment ended.
