Rowena de Carsival

(a.k.a. Morielle Errans)

Rowena de Carsvial was an occultist, apothecary, alienist and mentalist working for the Vailhinger Detective Agency. In 1889 she was found floating in the Galatine River by Wolfram Vailhinger, whom took her in. She had no memories since 1842 when she boarded the airship Auridia for Emanuel Gauvins expedition to the southern Ice Wastes. On learning that all her sisters had died or disappeared mysteriously, she decided to keep her true identy secret and adopted the name Morielle Errans

Early Life

Childhood

Rowena was born the youngest of Morrigan de Carsival seven daughters. The father of the seven Carsival sister were a source of much speculation and rumor in Calantors high society; ranging from fanciful ans sinister like the father being a demon from the Pit to more mundane that he just was a were private person.

Education

Rowena spent only her earliest years in the Raven Tower before being sent to various prestigous boarding schools. Morrigan had an ambition to wash away the dark notoriety that house Carsival historically posssed. For that reason she made sure her daughter were going to be integrated in a wide part of society. So, instead of attending the Elsewhere Academy - the traditional school for the magically gifted children of the Vespertine Houses - Rowena were sent to the Royal Anatomical Academy in Avergone. During her time in Avergone, Rowena excelled in the many medical practises she studied but were also drawn to the esotheric and occult

The Gauvin Expedtion

Through her sister Corvinna de Carsival she got into contact with eccentric genious artificer and teosophist Emanuel Gasuvin. Gauvin were in need of a physician for an expedition to search for ancient ruins in among the enternal ice close to the south pole. Rowenas last memory were of boarding the airship in Avergones sky harbor

The Lost Years

During her time with Vailhinger Detective Agency Rowena (as Morielle) managed to piece together parts of her lost memories, both through dilligent investigation

The Purpose of the Gauvin Expedition

The goal of the antarctic expedition was to find an ancient oracle known as The One that Sees the End.

The Gauvin-Steinhardt Expedition

After the success of his first expedition, Gauvin teamed up with the famous adventurer Sebastian Steinhardt to launch an expedition to the depths of the Mistweld. Among the log lost elven ruins the expedtion found starnghe amber monoliths

Roderick de Galvanis

During the expedition Rowena became close with the inventor Roderick de Galvanis and they eventualley married despite the rivalry of their vespertine families.

The Institute and the Asylum

After the expeditions, Rowena joined the Medical Institute in Calantor and quickly became prominent member. She excelled as an alienist and were given the role as director of the Shadeshill Asylum. During this tinme she was assisted by the doctors Lucinda Thalen and Zoran Genissi.

Delerium Research

Rowena was fascinated by the mysterious mineral Delerium and was one of the first known to study its properties. With the help of the mineral she reporterdly produced an elixir with fantastic properties.

Vivisectionist Victim

In 1851 Rowena and a group of her students became early victims of the serial killer known later as the Vivisectionist. The murders somehow seem to have inspired the formation of the Sarxian Brotherhood and the whole thing was covered up by Otto de Galvanis .
