Althea - Age of Adventure

The world of Althea is one steeped in mythology and magic. The Gods reign from upon high, currying favor from mortals for their cosmic games. The world lives and breathes with its own will as the magic and very elements of the world take shape. Many races call this world home. The Elder Races of the Dwarves, Mer and Giants dwell in the forgotten lands and depths of the world while the savage Darra Kish races seek plunder and glory. In the quiet east the humans and elves battle for dominance over what little part of the greater world they know.   Vast oceans and dread storms have separated the peoples of the world from each other for many a long age but the Age of Sail has begun in the eastern lands where humans and elves dominate. Beyond the small corner of the world they have bickered over for centuries a much larger world exists with countries and peoples beyond their belief. With the Gods watching, they strike out from their ports to explore the seas and lands beyond the Sea of Giants. The course of history will change forever as the ancient legends of the world are re-discovered and lands thought mere myth come to life.   The Alliance of the Five Kingdoms and the Valerian Empire have long been the eminent powers of humanity and elvendom but now the old alliances shall be tested as new discoveries and powers threaten the balance. Many peoples and lands are to be discovered in the New World, friends, foes or something else altogether. Ruins of long fallen civilizations are scattered about the world waiting to be explored and their long held secrets finally brought back to light.
