Windriders
Windriders are from the same migratory race of the Rad-al-Nedjay, but centuries removed from the cultural progression. They inhabit the Windy Steppe, which is a region surrouding the Dragons Eye mountain, on the southwest border of Valaria.
Windriders are organized into 3 tribes, who keep a constant vigil on the steppe, each nearly equidistant from the other 2 and all migrate at the change of seasons, in the same direction.
3 tribes are the Shaya, Mung, and Vaed. Each has a specialty, but all are master horsemen with vast horse herds owned by each tribe.
Shaya tribe are hunters of the great Auroch heards of the steppe, and follow them in their circular migration. Their banners are nearly always topped with a long set of Auroch horns, or a full Auroch skull.
Mung are fierce warriors, and raid the other 2 tribes, as well as the Rad-Al-Nedjay and Lake Men, when their migration takes them close. Their banners are horsehair-tassled on the ends of the poles, with colored bands down the pole to indicate the War leader of the party.
Vaed are herdsmen who herd sheep in the wake of the Aurochs, they are excellent weavers, and trade with the Lake men when they are close. Easily identified by the mulit-hued wool cloaks with hoods the wear, their banners are thin streamers in geometric patterns.
Windriders are somewhat squat, with dark hair and eyes. Many men cannot grow facial hari, some in the Mung tribe have been known to grow long mustaches, which they braid into one below their chin.
Windrider tribes all prize courage and skill in mounted combat. Often skilled Windrider warriors will ride up to an enemy war party, and challenge any brave enough to duel. Then if a challenger appears, they will each try to prove their worth. If no challenger appears the whole party is disgraced, and will face shame when word reaches their camp.
