Trek to Sharington Report Played 2/13/2023

General Summary

• Killed 3 basilisks on the way to town from the hermit's hut and threw the corpses into a portable hole
• Rhys used "Speak with animals" on a mouse who rewarded the group with the location of "sweet water" because something has been fouling nearby water sources
• Continued onward, rescued a hill giant that was locked in a mausoleum and immediately got attacked by it. (Handled both the basilisk and giant encounters without taking damage.)
• Got to town, witnessed the end of a woman and her child being burned at the stake for being 'unregistered magic users'.
• Rhys asked the soldiers where the inn was, got blown off, so he used this as cover to dig a hole, drop Poppy's component pouch in, and take a shit on top of it to be sure nobody looked any closer. it then occurred to Savane to hide Poppy's spellbook in her alms box, which they did.
• Shortly thereafter, they learned that the woman burned was the only midwife, so Rhys demanded Savane's clerical stuff, told the ladies to go ahead and check into the nice inn, and went back to the last camp spot complaining the whole way about how the stupid pot they got as a wedding gift wasn't worth going back for.
• He dug another hole, lining it to make sure it was fairly watertight, buring Savane's clerical stuff and Poppy's spellbook.
• He then made the area look undisturbed and used an obscure ranger marking for 'dangerous' so he could both find it again and deter others from investigating his dig site.
• Returning to the White Swan inn, the party decided that Poppy was five, Vasta was her teenage sister, and Rhys was their father. Savane was their step mother.
• Rhys spent the afternoon buying alcohol for the locals and intentionally being overly macho to make up for being such a short and skinny human man.
• Rhys was able to discover that the anti-magic user law has been in place for some time but that this little town had been ignoring it, and that nobody here seemed to feel what happened was fair..
• The next day the ladies went shopping, Poppy got a dolly and a sun dress while Rhys bought horses, a wagon, and sold basilisk parts. -160 horse/wagon etc. and +94 basilisk parts
