Shulan / Into the Greycott Sewers Played 5/7/2022
General Summary
Met Burley Pearly at the Sunken Anchor the next morning at 8 am. She watched the group search the basement and answered all of the group’s questions, though she didn’t have any good information.
After much searching they found a magically hidden trap door that opened into the sewers, and much to Savane’s horror they climbed down the rusty broken ladder to search for Lilly and the other 2 girls.
The first thing of interest that was found was only a little farther on, there was a trapped door that was propped open with a partial rat carcass.
After Chloe checked for traps Rhys used his dagger (through the rat) to keep the rat in place while he checked out what he could see from the entrance. Finding no one the group climbed up to check out the room. It was similar in size and design to the Anchor, but mostly used for storage, broken and usable furniture etc.
The floor was mostly covered with dust except for a “path” between the sewer and a “nest” made of dust covers etc. not too far from the door. There were bits of food and plenty of empty bottles in and around the sleeping area; also a Carnelian tennis bracelet with 4 stones pried out (value?).
Savane found a porcelain dolls head and picked it up, only to have roaches rush out and climb over her. Her scream brought the inhabitants running and everyone climbed down to the sewers and hid. The person that investigated mentioned that they found where the smell was coming from! Then closed and bared the door to the house saying that they would call the guard. Rhys listened for a bit longer and got everyone moving as the guard should not find them.
After casting Speak with Animals Rhys got directions to the “bad place” where the rats wouldn’t go and to Eddy’s who was a friend and had 3 girls with him. Rhys asked the rat if Eddy would let them buy the girls and the rat said that it would check as Eddy liked that word. So the rat left and the group continued on.
They came to a dead end, but the sewage was running under the wall so Rhys laid down to get a rats eye view and discovered the illusion was fading or poorly cast as the bottom was a bit off the floor and the corridor actually continued on!
The group fought Splash the Ettercap and his 2 giant spider pets, digit and toenail. After defeating them and searching the room they took a short rest,
2 Tiger eye 1 Malachite 1 Star rose 1 large Topaz 29 gold, 75 silver, & 20 copper, and a wand of magic missiles in an overturned shield. Nearby there was small cloth doll and an immovable rod, and scattered around the floor was lots of rotting and useless armor and such. Though a set of studded leather armor, 2 short swords and a long bow were usable/sellable.
After their rest they continued on until they finally found Eddy behind a makeshift barricade. The group tried to reason with him but ended up having to take him out. Eddy was wearing a set of studded leather, a hand cross bow with 40 darts and had a pouch with 20 silver in it.
They could see the door to Eddies lair from where they were as he had a torch burning. They found the kidnapped girls, a human child, a halfling woman, and Lilly in their shifts and bruised up but otherwise unharmed.
Everyone made it safely to the closest guard station where the kids father, Lord Bertrum, came to collect her and paid the group the 500, I mean 400 plat reward. Rhys got an invitation to dine with them on Wednesday. (the girl’s nurse’s name is Gay)
Chloe overheard a cleric speaking to a man about an orgy. Only men were being invited. Rhys disguised himself as a chauvinistic scumbag and got an invitation too. He was assigned a rogue partner from Chloe’s organization and infiltrated the church function. He learned that the girls being paraded around were under a spell that they would do anything asked pertaining to lust, and that the incense seemed to have some sort of either magical or mundane drugging effect that made him more inclined to participate. He knows he missed out on whatever the final event of the night was as he was not initiated and therefore not allowed to be present.
