Shulan / Greycott Sewers Again Played 5/21/2022 Report
General Summary
Rhys picked up the last map needed and after studying it thoroughly the group headed to the sewers as close as they could to the catacombs.
They came across a room with so many dead rats that they were spilling out onto the walkway. Rhys stepped into the doorway to investigate and was grabbed by a tentacle that pierced him as well as grappled. It was a vicious fight with Rhys going down again and Savane also being dropped by the creature.
After finally being victorious they noticed movement in the back of the room and found a young cat that they rescued (the cat was about a year old, long haired Gus missing one of his ears). The event was bad enough that they left the sewers and went to the clerics.
In Greycott the entrances to the sewers are not in the middle of the street, they are inside of small “sheds” that are kept locked. Items needed for damage repair and such are kept in the sheds; the manhole is VERY heavy and locked as well. The sewers are accessed by keys that have been enspelled to not only unlock the shed but make the cover light enough to easily open. There are permanently enspelled keys as well as blanks that have a 1 use cantrip cast on them just before sewer access is needed.
Back to the sewers again the next morning. Almost made to the crypt entrance with no issues. With the stairs down in sight a rush of air passed the group and an imp appeared attacking a quasit (both have invisibility until attacking) our heroes killed both fiends and moved on.
At the top of the stairs a spectator was guarding the entrance and kept repeating that they could not pass, although it did mention that the girls could if they were tied up. The spectator was defeated and finally they faced the door to the catacombs. It was made of granite and very heavy as well as locked. Chloe found and disarmed the trap on the door, which also unlocked it.
After pushing the door open the group found themselves in an entryway with smooth “whitewashed” walls and unlit decorative torches. In front of them was a normal door with stylized figure decorating it. Octavia (Chloe?) recognized the figure as a no longer worshiped goddess of death (TN)
The session ended there.
