Mezeelian Baptism

Baptism is not required in order to be a follower of any particular god. However, anyone who wishes to officially enter a faith community or become Devoted may partake in the baptism ritual of the diety they wish to follow. (NOTE: It is highly suggested to roleplay a baptism when gaining the Devotion ability from Way of the Faithful, but it is not required)   When being baptized into the faith of Mezeel the newcomer will take a knee, wearing a plate gauntlet. The arm wearing the gauntlet will be positioned with their elbow on the raised knee before them- their closed fist turned so the back of their hand faces away and their closed fingers touch their forhead.   While in this position, the Mezeelite performing the baptism will recite some words about Mezeel and the nature of their faith, and then recite each tenet of Mezeel. The candidate will repeat these tenets in turn.   After the last tenet, an arrow will be placed on or in the ground before the candidate. They will reach down to pick the arrow up in their plated hand. They will stand, turn their fist holding the arrow towards themselves (so the back of their hand faces away) and all Mezeelites in attendence will say together: "Prosecution with Discipline, with His Authority. In the name of Mezeel."   After this the candidate will become a Devoted Mezeelite. They may be given the plate gauntlet used in the ceremony, or be tasked with obtaining one at the next opportunity, as it is an important symbol of their god.
