Welcome to an alternate version of Faerun
Context of the Game
We are playing in the WOTC world of Toril, focused mainly on Faerun going through the Tyranny of Dragons campaign setting. This campaigntakes place in the Swords Coast where the players are battling against the Cult of the Dragon. The Cult has always been trying to bring Tiamat back to the prime material plane but this time the might actually make it happen.
The campaign was built to take characters from 1st level to 15th level, but with the changes to experience and the additional material I plan to bring in I am expecting players to pass 20th by the end of the campaign because I have added a lot of material to the WOTC campaign. If you have played Tyranny before you will recognize many things, but I exepect at least 1/2 the content will be new.
Note that while the Cult of the Dragon is an adversary in this story, the player can still choose a Dragonborn as a race (understanding there may be some trust issues as the story goes on).
This will be a HIGH MAGIC game. The player can expect to see tons of common use magic items (ex. a brush that gives Adv on Chr checks when you brush your hair with it). They can also exect to see many regular magic items.
Given the amount of magic the rules for attunment will be changed. We will reserve the need for attunement for items that are complicated to use or tied to a character.
For example, a +1 magic sword is magically sharp, whether it is attuned or not. But a Holy Avenger has many abilities that need to be attuned to for a charater to take advantage of.
