11 Session - 02/09/24 The Moral Dilemma, and the other Moral Dilemma

General Summary

Having been prompted the the Elturel's Free Trading Guild and the Emerald Enclave the party takes the side job They portal there using Mal's new found friend and have a day and a half to prepare, so they scare the locals into leaving and then setup a tavern. The elf flies off to see how far away the caravan is, and sees a force of over 200 about 1.5 days away. They prepare, hoping to use the tavern to stall the leadership while the thief and the druid sneak in and do the job. But the Cult is camping in the day and travelling at night so their preparations are way too early, but they sort it out and get ready the day they arrive The halfling gets seen and has to leave the tabaxi on her own. The inn concept works in general, it distracts some of the lead guard but when the carvan arrives it gives the players a reason for being in the town. The tabaxi goes ethereal and floats into the wagons, looking for the eggs to swap and finds fake eggs in 5 of the 6 covered wagons, and tries to enter what she finds in the non fake wagon and is blasted by some energy that extends to the ethereal plane. They party gets ready a distraction when the caravan is stopped by something a distance ahead just as the druid notices people riding nightmares in the sky overhead. The two with familiars send theirs and they see a very nast warforged with dozens of dead bodies around it causing the carvan to hault. The players use this to their advantage and case 2 fireballs at the wagon with the magical thing that must be where the eggs are held and the fireballs explode with more than 2x the normal area of effect and damage destroying the wagon, its protectors, but not the device. The druid casts spiked growth to cut off the caravan devenders and it too is significantly boosted in power. They find a glowing crystal like rock that looks like a dragons egg connected to a device with 36 magical snowglobes with things inside. They players attempt to "knock" to release the locks and find the power of the spell throws kytarr 60 feet through the air The druid notices a tiefling on a nightmare watching and drops a fog cloud on the device which becomes thicker than pea soup. The players manage to release the device and levitate it back to their entry portal. Kyrtarr is met by the Tiefling who says "his conditions are accepted" and they escape the scene back to Elturel.
