Thurein was born into a working class dwarf family. His father (Thomin) was a miner and his mother (belsyl) a stone singer. His mother died shortly after his birth due to child bed fever. After her death Thurein and his father moved in with his Aunt who had also been recently widowed and her young son Økrí. Over the years Thurein would work an assortment of jobs over the years from working for the grave diggers guild when he was a beardling (avout 20's to 30's)to the Miners Guild (from his 30's to his 50's) afterwards then most recently an engineer. (Till present) When he was 43 Thurein met an elf maiden called Kaylyn Myriani who had come to meet him at the engineer's guild hall who had taken interest in his work. An arcane suspension device meant to help Miners trapped in case of a cave in. After spending months together researching Thurein developed a relationship with her. (About 15 yearsater) On the day of the first official field deployment after 136 field test (all those involving live dwarves being successful) Thurein led an expedition down to some of the lowest depths of the mine in order to mine mithril. During the expedition Thurein entrusted the device to Kaylyn his partner in both science and life. Kaylyn once the mithril had been mined and packed would use magic to collapse the tunnels ontop of Thurein and his company of dwarves. As a result Thurein would muster all his will power and strength in an attempt to hold up the rubble only to have his strength fail him after a few moments, crushing Thurein and every dwarf attending. Thurein would awake hours later when a rescue team led by princess Ruviel and his cousin Økrí the lone survivor of the incident his body broken and his hands mangled beyond repair by traditional medical means. Since that day Thurein has slowly developed the idea that magic isn't real (as an excuse to somehow try and justify Kaylyn and the cave in as an accident. As a result of the incident Thurein was outcast from the engineer's guild and seen as the one responsible for the deaths of 7 other dwarves. During his months of grueling rehabilitation Thurein would form a strong friendship with the princess and after some years he would ask her to be his betrothed. The couple would wed on Ruviel's 70th birthday (3 months after Thurein's) and a year later Ruviel would bear Thurein and pair of beautiful babies, the twins Bardin (son) and Mevana (daughter). Seeking a way to exile the prince consort (and son in law) the queen would exile Thurein on charges of Tax evasion for the total sum of 5 silver pieces and 2 copper.
