Building of the Old Library of Vekirai

The Old Library is the tallest tower of Vekirai and house the writings of the elders, the later mages and more recently, the sages. The Old Library is widely recognised as the greatest compendium of knowledge in all the world.

The Old Library was originally built to house the Elders. It was to be luxurious palace to represent their dominance over the city. A number of nobles protested at the idea and to appease them, the Elders designed the tower as a school and library where the children of the noble houses could be educated and where public record could be kept. The building was designed to look simple and square to represent the humility of the elders, however it was still built as the tallest tower in the city and still contained a number of comfortable apartments.
