She's been raised by her birth mother and adopted father. But she's plainly different from her father, and no one talks to her about him. She only gathered that he left and was considered one of the Vantirr*. Children are cruel, and so she grew up with a bit of a chip on her shoulder. Auriel saw in her heart the desire to seek out answers, and provided in dreams a path to feed them, for yourself and potentially others. During the clan elder's nameday feast , she stood tall and announced to the clan that she invoke the Zukotirr** as her gift to them, seeking to set out, retrieve her father, and return him to the tribe to face trial.
