The Twin Library of Selpomene

The Twin Library of Selpomene, as its name states, was originally two sister libraries. The bigger one was situated on Island of Thelie near The Maiden's belt archipelago and the smaller one in the draconic city of Xirarhia. Unfortunately the bigger one was lost in the civil war of dragons and most of the books and documents it held had to be left behind.
The amount of lost knowledge inspired many different expeditions to find the location of the library, but none had managed to do so until Xirarhquimoira and her entourage. She provably found the Lost Library, but apparently the library was destroyed in the same surge in which she ascended to godhood. Thus, among her followers it is thought that she absorbed all the knowledge the lost library had at the time and is therefore titled as "The Great Librarian" and "The Mother of Knowledge."

Purpose / Function

To store all the knowledge there is. As a draconic library it fit the theme of dragons collecting things they find interesting. The Clan Xirarh had decided to preserve and collect all the knowledge of the multiverse and even beyond.

Special Properties

The Legend tells that the Island was able to soar through the skies like a flying fortress.

Architecture

The stone halls were of beautiful masonry. Numerous halls, walkways, gardens and terraces scrawled all over the Island of Thelie, making the Island Library a whole city in itself.

History

Built in the early history of the dragons, it was one of the great monuments of the great lizards and revered also as a monument of past, but also as a monument of tradition. Not many other buildings lasted as long as the Island Library and its symbolic value to the unity of the dragons was immeasurable. This was why it was such a huge blow to the dragons when it was lost in the civil war, signifying that an era of unity had come to an end and made many ominously ponder if peace would ever be an option again.
