The Tithing crisis of Khasut is an event that is the first major test for the new Crescent queen, Zainab Malika. Part of the agreement that the other Healian kingdoms have with Khasut is that they pay a religious tax. This tax or tithing that is paid to Khasut is a main source of income for the kingdom. It's used for all kinds of things from new public works to paying the salaries of servants, guards and other administrative workers. The problem that All Crescent queens have faced from the start of the rule in this new continent is getting full payments and on time. Some of the other kingdoms are physically far away. The money has to travel a long distance and has to be protected from opportunistic thieves. Another problem is that the Creants queen influence is not automatically accepted. No kingdom would dare to openly bash and slander the Crescent queen but they have way of undermining her will and try to skip on payments The crisis started because of Zainab Malika ascension to Crescent queen. She is seen as new and some of the other leaders are smelling blood in the water. Three out of the other four kingdoms have missed their payment date and two of those three have avoided sending an explanation. Zaniab will have to weigh her option on how to deal with this seemingly disrespect and rebelion to her will.
