Tiles/Mosaics

Throughout Khasut, especially the wealthier side, it is quite common to see colorful mosaics and tiles decorating streets, buildings, and houses. These tiles and mosaics first started to be made when Khasut was first being settled. Some of the tiles and mosaics are made from materials coming from Ammenot-Heh but most of the tiles and mosaics are made of common materials Makha Nata. However, materials in Khasut tend to be scarce and are usually found during trades with those from other kingdoms. Due to this the tiles and mosaics are on the more expensive side, which is why it is more common to see these beautiful objects adorning the houses and streets of the wealthier parts of town. The designs on the tiles and imagery of the mosaics tends to be of the tear of Deshret, Hilael 4 crescents, Fael Al’eem, and one popular and large mosaic featuring the layout of Khasut specifically (it is similar to the tiles and smaller mosaics depiticting the 4 crescents.)   In Khasut tiles, primarily, that depict imagery and symbols from other religions can scarcely be found. These are more often found in people’s personal homes so as to be sure to obey the religious laws in Khasut. Some examples of other imagery that can be found is: For the Astorian people, tiles with designs representing the ten spoked wheel, crown of thorns, crown of nails, and the Natąmpa. For the Adairian people, tiles wth designs representing the tree of life and the adair knot.
