The white bear statue

Place   General information Name: The white bear statue Type: Statue, Location Location: Las Isloyatan Size: Fifteen meters long Ten meters Condition: Slightly aged Inhabitants: Sixty people can stand around the statue and see it.   The white bear statue is a sculpture in the resemblance of Matoskah Takoda the founder of Las Isloyatan. The statue is a public work that anyone in the kingdom can visit and view.   History   The white bear statue was to honor Matoskah Takoda, the founder and first king of Las Isloyatan. The project was not seriously considered until after the death of King Matoskah. Construction took about three years to complete. A big reason that the construction process took as long as it did was due to the material chosen for the statue.Gold marble had to be brought from the Astorian mountain and transported to the kingdom.   The main backers of the project are Rice farmers. The old elites of the kingdom seeked to create a public work to try and reinvigorate the rice farmers in Las Isloyatan society. Their thought process was that if there was a big and shiny new statue featuring the role of rice farming in the history of the kingdom, it would convince more people to re-evaluate and see the rice farmers as important. King Matoskahs history as a rice farmer was the reason why he was chosen to be depicted as his younger self in the statue.   The process to choose a pose went through many design phases. At some point the statue design was getting to become too avant garde extravagant. There was fear that it was getting away from the original purpose. This was rectified with a more modest design that would be the final chosen design.   Description The statue is a wooden boat that sits on a large polished stone podium. On the boat standing with one leg perched on a barrel is a statue of a man resembling a young Matoskah Takoda. He has a hand reaching out open paled. On the palm is a pile of sculpted grains of rice. The Gold marble gives the texture and appearance of marble with lines and cracks of gold lines.
