Hilaelian Enforcer Vehicle
First created by Hilaelians, these vehicles used to be simple, horse-driven, wooden chariots that could hold a maximum of two people. These chariots originally served a more utilitarian purpose for messengers as transportation, both in war and out of it. However, as populations grew and war became increasingly common across Mahka Nata, the design of these vehicles was changed to adapt the simple chariot into something more suited to wartime.
Some of these improvements include the implementation of metal and magic, with which these vehicles provide more longevity and protection to both cargo and drivers. Metal beams and plates help improve the longevity of these vehicles. The bodies of these vessels now contain latticed walls on the front, back, and ceiling; the solid, curved side walls possess small openings with sliding covers for long-range weapons to shoot from without obstruction of view. More wheels help these larger, more reinforced wagons move quickly, and latching doors ensure that large piles of cargo don't fall from the vessel during transport. The bottom half of the wagon’s exterior is decorated with Hilaelian iconography (the symbols of Ankbashet, Hilael, and Deshret) and sometimes with crests of certain kingdoms to denote which kingdom they come from. There is minimal seating inside the vessel to accommodate for the bigger protective apparatuses that take up more space.
These vehicles provide protection with both offensive and defensive additions that can be magical or non magical. Some of these defensive armaments include armor and certain shielding enchantments. Others can be more offensively inclined, like retribution-based enchantments and other harmful features integrated with the vehicle.
The Hilaelian military collaborates with reputable Hilaelian blacksmiths only to make these vehicles. With their production becoming increasingly common, soldiers who are assigned as drivers are required to undergo special training to operate these enforcement vehicles. Standard-rank soldiers may only occupy the body of the vehicle. The blueprints of these vessels, as well as the vessels themselves, are only shared amongst Hilaelian kingdoms.
Some of these military wagons are designated for pedestrian settings due to the threat of rising immigrant populations in certain kingdoms. These vehicles are most commonly found in Madhiba than other Hilaelian kingdoms due to the threat of rising immigrant populations and the increasing popularity of certain illicit industries. They are still used for military operations in Madhiba, though their fleet’s current focus is keeping Adairian settlements in check through patrols, curfew enforcement, and unlawful searches of both home and person. If needed, these vehicles also make for suitable blockades, especially in Madhiba’s cramped underground.
If seized and overtaken, these vehicles fetch a high price for their materials. Scrappers and other thieves will disassemble the vehicles and sell the parts at a profit. After the wagons are overtaken and scalped, sometimes their skeletons are used as housing. The smaller pieces are melted down and repurposed as weapons, armor, and utilitarian items. The ornate crests on these vessels are usually made entirely of solid precious metal, so these valuable decorations are either melted down to make jewelry or stolen by thieves and scrappers because they symbolize power and status within their own circles.
