Pierre Valdeau

Hailing from somewhere north of the Astorian mountain kingdoms. Pierre speaks little of his past before arriving at the University of Thoth. What can be surmised is that he had enough money to make it to and study at the university, and when he’s drunk enough he talks of a sister that he misses dearly. While at the university Pierre made a study of the religious history of the region becoming an expert on the religious practices of the Astorians and Hilaeleans through study. He also was the first to fully document the adairic religion at least in how it’s pronounced on the isle of Seshat, an accomplishment that gained him significant respect in academic circles. A respect that was quickly lost when a few years later he published a theory of a proto religion from which all three religions were descended, an idea that made him the laughingstock of the university. He still teaches classes, having a reputation among students of showing up to class drunk, and giving lectures that are just readings from books. He hasn’t published any new research in the last ten years, making his status at the university a tenuous one that isn’t helped by his tendency to end up passed out in the taverns near the docks. However despite his ever worsening reputation he hasn’t violated the code of conduct in any manner worse enough that the university council could fire him. When asked he will say he converted to Hilael upon arriving at the university but he doesn’t appear to follow any of their customs.
