Marian Geld
Marian Geld is a middle aged man who lives in Ąpawičhak’ya. However, he is not Astorian or Hilaelean; he is Adairian. He lives in the Adairian quarters that the Astorian government alotted for his culture, but it's hard to really call it living. He resides in the small village in the forest with others like him, but it's such a small space that he has to share a room with two others. They get along well, just as everyone in the commune does. They need to have solidarity if they want to keep what little ground they have.
Marian has no family. His mother and father abandoned him when he was young, and he never had any siblings. He's never married, and has no plans to. The closest thing he has to family are the people he lives with, but they only share a roof. Marian harbors a great hatred for the Astorian culture. He despises the way they treat him and his people, but his true anger comes from his lack of ability to change that. He wishes that he could rise up against the rulers of Astoria, but he knows it would be useless. They have little to do in their isolated quarters, but Marian has made a living by selling animal hides to a rare few Astorians who are willing to trade with them.
Since his Adairian commune is in the forest, there is no shortage of beasts. Marian takes advantage of this, hunting them for sport. He brings back their corpses and carefully takes them apart. He sells the furs and valuable parts like claws or teeth to the Astorians, but he keeps materials like bones to himself. However, Marian will keep high quality goods to himself. He is armed with weapons made of sturdy beast bones, and keeps high quality furs to make substantial winter clothing for himself. Despite the significant difficulties he would face in a revolt, he still feels the need to stay prepared.
