Lizard Dragons
These dragons developed their names due to their lizard sized bodies, though their actual appearances outside of this vary vastly depending on how they adapt to their habitat. They can thrive in just about any environment, from snowy tundras to the hottest of deserts. With color adapting scales and their transformative yet tiny bodies, they are easily able to blend and fit right in to any of their surroundings with ease.
For an example, lets consider what a lizard dragon that resides in a foresty area will look like in order to adapt to its environment. Some may dawn green leaf/foliage like scales and wooden horns, while others may attempt to look like stone, and some have even been documented to form multiple buglike appearances to blend into its environment- with some even growing extra limbs.
Those that reside in the waters showcase a wide variety of appearances as well, with some with shiny fishlike scales and gills to breathe underwater, and some with hard exterior 'shells' to protect them from harm.
The possibilites are endless, and no two dragons are completely alike. Making categorizing them, or even finding them to be an extremely difficult task.
