Heȟáka
The Hehaka is a military branch within the Wakatakte Kingdom. The Hehaka branch is a cavalry branch of the military that rides on tokals, sturdy and nimble-hooved creatures with long legs ideal for climbing mountain ranges. The tokals that are used for this military branch are bred for endurance and agility to help the Hehaka soldiers travel long distances in shorter amounts of time with ease.
Unlike the Wanbli branch of the military which is an infantry-style branch or the Matho branch which consists of blood magic users, the Hehaka is very spread apart. Their main role is to protect the villages, especially those that are on the border of the Wakatakte Kingdom. The Hehaka serves as the first line of defense, they are meant to deter any potential threats from attacking the kingdom. Because the Hehaka are stationed at various locations they lack most types of supervision that the other two branches of the military receive.
Due to the lack of supervision, some members of the Hehaka have strayed from their path as protectors. Many have begun to exploit the citizens that they are supposed to be defending, mugging civilians, forcing the citizens to do labor, and plenty of misuse of their authority, taking advantage of the poor civilians. As a result, these soldiers have begun to tarnish the name of the Hehaka military branch.
Despite some of the Hehaka being disloyal to their oath, some choose to stick to it and continue to protect their civilians without abusing their authority.
